Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-09-12

Welcome to KnowMe (the website knowme.llc and the iOS app “KnowMe”, together “the Service”). Please read these terms before using the Service; by using it you agree to them.

These terms and the Privacy Policy together form the whole agreement between you and us.

1. What the Service does

The Service calculates a BaZi chart, a Western natal chart, or a two-person synastry chart from the birth details you enter, and generates a long-form reading from it with AI. You can then ask follow-up questions about that reading. The chart calculation uses the Swiss Ephemeris and is reproducible astronomy; the reading text is generated by a large language model.

2. Important: this is not professional advice

This is the most important section of these terms. Please read all of it.

  • The Service provides readings within the cultural traditions of BaZi and astrology, offered for self-reflection and entertainment. They are not statements of fact and are not guaranteed to be accurate.
  • They are not medical, psychological, legal, financial, investment, marital or career advice, and are no substitute for a doctor, lawyer, therapist or financial adviser.
  • They do not predict or promise future events. Anything about timing or the direction of your fortune is a statement inside an interpretive framework, not a basis for decisions.
  • If you are in a mental-health crisis or having thoughts of self-harm, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately. Do not rely on the Service.

Any decision you make based on the Service is your own responsibility.

3. Your account

  • Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your phone number or email address; there is no password. Keep them secure — actions taken through them are treated as yours.
  • One person should register one account. We may restrict the Service where we see bulk registration or abuse of the free allowance.
  • You can permanently delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the app. Deletion cannot be undone; its scope is described in section 6 of the Privacy Policy.

4. Purchases, subscription and allowances

Paid items are sold as Apple App Store in-app purchases. The prices shown in the app govern.

Free allowance

  • Every user gets one free use. It is one-time and never resets.
  • When that use goes to a reading, we show the first half of it; the full text can be unlocked for ¥2 for that reading.

One-time purchases

  • Unlock full reading: ¥2, valid for that one reading only.
  • Question credit packs: 3 for ¥6, 12 for ¥18, 30 for ¥38. Credits do not expire, but are not transferable and cannot be cashed out.

KnowMe membership (auto-renewing monthly)

  • ¥29 per month, including 40 questions per month — enough for everyday use. The count is per subscription period and starts over each period; unused questions do not carry over.
  • The subscription renews automatically. Unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, Apple charges your Apple Account within 24 hours before the period ends and renews it.
  • To manage or cancel: iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, or Settings → Manage Subscription in the app. After cancelling, the subscription runs to the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • While subscribed, your separately purchased credits are not consumed. They remain available after the subscription ends.

Refunds

  • Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions; we cannot process them directly.
  • If Apple tells us a transaction has been refunded, we revoke the entitlement it paid for, including subscription status and unused credits.
  • Readings and answers that have already been generated consumed real compute and are generally not refundable.

5. The second person’s details

A synastry reading requires another person’s birth details. You must be entitled to provide them and have that person’s consent. Do not use someone else’s birth details to judge, discuss or harass them.

6. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • send automated or bulk requests, scrape content, or circumvent allowance and billing mechanisms;
  • reverse-engineer the Service or attempt to obtain our prompts, model configuration or other non-public material;
  • use the content for harassment, discrimination, intimidation, fraud, or any unlawful purpose;
  • use the output to screen other people — in hiring, housing, lending, insurance or similar decisions. The content is unsuited to that and must not be used for it;
  • impersonate anyone, or present the content misleadingly as a professional diagnosis, legal opinion, or settled fact about the future.

Where these terms are broken, we may limit or end your use of the Service to the extent necessary.

7. Content and intellectual property

  • The birth details and questions you enter are yours. You grant us the licence needed to process them in order to provide the Service (scope as in the Privacy Policy).
  • The readings and answers generated for you are yours to read, keep and share.
  • The Service itself — software, interface design, prompt system and brand — belongs to us and may not be copied or used commercially without permission.
  • AI-generated content may resemble content given to others; we make no guarantee of originality.

8. Changes and interruptions

We may adjust, add or discontinue parts of the Service. For material changes affecting paid entitlements we will give notice in the app beforehand. The Service may also be interrupted by maintenance, network faults, or unavailability of third parties (model providers, Apple, our host).

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law: the Service is provided “as is”, without warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose; we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss; and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you actually paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Disputes should first be discussed in good faith; failing that, they are submitted to the competent People’s Court at our place of business.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the Service — you may delete your account.
